Our ‘Art in the Park’ display is in the centre of the park, with a few additional pieces on display in the cafe.
The 2022 theme of ‘Wild Rowntree Park’ invited local artists to submit pieces of work that celebrate wild aspects of the park. Despite being an urban park close to the city centre, there is a vast amount of biodiversity. Our volunteers, who care for specific areas of the park and we fund, are focused on helping pollinators, using more native planting where possible, and also considering low maintenance and flood resilient planting. We are also developing a new ‘Wildlife Area’ toward the Butcher Terrace side of the park that will include a pond, bog garden, orchard, wildflower meadow, and more. We welcome people to get involved in this community project (or any of our volunteer opportunities).
Some of the artwork on display will be available to purchase. Many of the artists have kindly agreed we can sell items using their art including such as notecards, prints, and calendars – any profit raised goes back into our charity who help maintain and improve the park.

Keep an eye on this page for details of what we will have for sale. We are likely to be selling items in the lead up to Christmas both online (with local pick up preferred but postage will be available) and via occasional stalls in the cafe.
If you are interested in specific pieces, it is worth dropping us a line with some info as we will only be printing some of the art and your views may help influence this – hello@rowntreepark.org.uk
In addition to the 2022 Art in the Park display, we have some limited edition prints from the Centenary Art in the Park display that was previously in the park (below). These are currently available as A4 prints and notecards.
