Our ‘Art in the Park’ display is in the centre of the park, with a few additional pieces on display in the cafe. We have been running the exhibition since 2020 and each year invite artists to submit pieces based on a Rowntree Park related theme.
Themes have included Rowntree Park through the years, Wild Rowntree Park, Seasonal Perspectives, the Pollinators of Rowntree Park, Bring the park to life, and Colours of Rowntree Park.
Some of the artwork on display is available to purchase. Many of the artists kindly agreed we can sell items using their art including such as notecards, prints, and calendars – any profit raised goes back into our charity who help maintain and improve the park.
The art work is displayed in the centre of the park from September to May, with some additional pieces on display inside at the York Explore Cafe in the park.
The call out for artists to submit to Art in the Park is launched around April each year with deadlines for submissions in June. Keep and wye on our social media for updates.
