Our events for all ages bring the community together.
Fun filled events that bring the community together and enhance a love of Rowntree Park
We offer a range of events throughout the year for all ages. These include a range of family and children’s events such as forest school and nature/eco-based sessions. We also run adult craft and wellbeing sessions and have live music in the park at weekends in the summer.
Some of our events require booking in advance, therefore please see the booking page to check what events are currently running that need booking in advance. Please check Facebook for update information on events.
We have weekly forest school for 2-5 year olds and monthly Saturday Forest School for 6-12 year olds.
We run woodwork sessions for home-educated children.
We also run a range of art, craft, ‘eco’ and nature events through the year.
Our craft group meets on Monday afternoons in term time.
We also have ‘Woods for Wellbeing’ sessions, as well as bird- and bat-watching events.
Events for schools and nurseries
We offer a range of bespoke sessions for educational settings. These include Forest School and survival experiences as well as nature-based sessions tailored to the curriculum and needs of the children.

There is a permanent orienteering course set up in the park by Eborienteers. Maps can be borrowed from the cafe or you can download the maps for the three routes here
Events from outside providers
Tennis – Rowntree Park Tennis club manage the tennis courts. Courts must be booked in advance and are available to both members and non-members of the club. The club also offer a range of tennis lessons for adults and children of all abilities. Find out more here
Nordic Walking – two groups use the park as their starting and end point on Mondays and Fridays. You can find out more here.
Tai Chi – These Saturday mornings sessions start at 9am and combines deep breathing and relaxation with flowing movements. Contact Richard for details: firstname.lastname@example.org
Ready Steady Mums – A walking group for new parents. They meet on Mondays at 10am. Find out more here.
