Calling all primary school aged ‘Nature Ninjas’ aged 4-9 (ish). Do you love the outdoors and exploring? Are you nutty about nature? Think mud is marvellous?
The Young Friends of Rowntree Park’s new after-school club starts after Easter and runs every Thursday from 4-5pm. Activities and adventures to engage and excite that will include a mix of science, engineering, art and crafts and much more! A focus on the natural world around us and the local community, teamwork, problem-solving and most importantly, lots of fun! We will also be making use of our new clubhouse located under the cafe!
There is a limit of 10 places available for the ‘Nature Ninjas’ and we aim to meet weekly from after Easter up until May half term initially. The dates are: 12th April, 19th April, 26th April, 3rd May, 10th May, 17th May, 24th May.
Each session is only £2 per child for Friends of Rowntree Park (a total of £14 for the half- term).

If you aren’t already a Friend of Rowntree Park, the sessions are £3 each, but it’s cheaper to join the Friends for £5 a year per household and then pay the members rate (a total of £19 rather than £21). You can join here.
Parents/carers will need to be around during the sessions. The Woodland Club will be lead by Christine (who has run the Very Young Friends sessions for a number of years, as well as many other groups/sessions for children) and Abigail, who organises events for the Young Friends and has 16 years teaching experience.
Example activities may include- den building, survival skills, willow weaving, nature art, scavenger hunts, gardening, making pulleys and zip wires, recycled boat racing, bug hotel making, making music in nature and so much more!
If you have further questions about the sessions – get in touch with Abigail at firstname.lastname@example.org
